 | About Medieval Multimedia
|
 |
This web site is operated under the direction of Bernard Muir (Reader in medieval language and literature) and Nick Kennedy (Arts Multimedia Manager), both at the University of Melbourne. It is used to advertise, promote, and disseminate projects relating to the digitization of medieval texts and manuscripts. It contains information about current projects, online courses available, and publications. In time we intend to mount working models of our digital products on the internet so that they can be 'road-tested' before a commitment is made to purchase them.
Each year, Introductory Latin Paleography is taught via the net. Anyone interested either in using our course to teach paleography themselves or in having us teach their classes remotely via the net should contact Bernard Muir directly to discuss site licensing, remote tutoring, and the purchase of CDs.
Digital Facsimiles and Publications
Our group specializes in digital facsimiles and electronic editions of ancient and medieval texts. Current projects include the electronic edition of Edmer's Life of Saint Wilfrid and a second edition of The Exeter Anthology of Old English Poetry with full digital facsimile.
We invite inquiries from those engaged in the preparation of electronic facsimiles and editions who want information about how out templates can be adapted for their projects or how we might do contract work for them. The templates can also be adapted to accommodate digital fine art books and similar publications.
For further information contact Bernard Muir.
