Eadmer
of Canterbury: Lives and Miracle of Saints Oda, Dunstan, and Oswald
These texts are further celebrations of the lives and careers of eminent
tenth-century archbishops and bishops. Dunstan and Oswald were central
figures of the tenth-century Monastic Reform; Oda was Archbishop during
the reign of Aethelstan (d. 939) and was present at 'The Battle of Brunanburh'.
These texts can be read to advantage in the context of an 'Introduction
to Old English' (A & B, 106-024
and 106-029).
Reviews
"[T]his is a very valuable edition and translation, in particular
in broadening our perspective on Eadmer's writings and in helping
us to know more of his working methods." [John Hudson, Early
Medieval Europe, 15.2 (2007): 250-1.]
