Medieval
Texts and Images
This is one of three works which are collections of essays focusing
primarily on medieval illuminated manuscripts, a number of which are
held in Australian and New Zealand collections. Many of the essays are
by young Australian scholars; others are by some of the world’s
leading authorities on medieval art history. See also: Reading

Reviews
"It is always welcome to read a handsomely published book
of wide-ranging essays dealing with medieval manuscript illumination
in which little-known works are reproduced in color, explored in depth
and new research is published." [Michael Camille, Speculum,
69.3 (1994): 833-5.]
